Some things that caught my eye, in no particular order:
- War Room: Tennessee Dem leader suggests Obama has terrorist connections. With friends like these…
- Counterpunch: “Change, What Change?” Alexander Cockburn continues to voice his instructive, if sometimes misguided, skepticism of Obama, and reminds us to be wary of sounding too hawkish as a strategy of solidifying the support of the pro-Israel lobbies.
- Crooks and Liars: Rove engaged in more than just “chit chat” with McCain campaign. Steve Benen’s thoughts on Karl Rove’s “informal” relationship with the McCain campaign and their attempts to keep it quiet.
- ABC Australia: China dissident commits suicide after forcible deportation. (thanks to Cory Doctorow at BoingBoing) Australia’s approach to dealing with asylum-seekers has been at a crisis-point for some time. Here’s another sad example.
- The Nation: Obama’s Chicago Boys Naomi Klein on the importance of keeping an eye on Obama’s economic policies.
- The Playgoer: Tony 2008: The Blogcast Garrett watches the Tonys so we don’t have to!
- engadget: Scientists create mutant bugs that produce crude oil, unleash swarm of merciless killers. “[G]enetically modified bacteria … that eat wheat and excrete crude oil.” Kind of cool; kind of creepy. Still maybe better to stop using oil altogether, yeah?
