Vote “No” on FISA “compromise.”

July 9th, 2008 · No Comments

The Senate will vote today on whether to expand executive powers, eviscerate the 4th amendment, erode judicial oversight, and protect government officials and corporations from being held responsible for felony offenses.

There’s been some progress, including Harry Reid’s statement that he will vote “no” on the bill. Too many are repeating the false notion that this is a “compromise” rather than a cave-in, however. Sadly, this includes Senator Obama. Glenn Greenwald neatly dismantles Obama’s argument in favor of the bill here and follows today’s all-but-certainly disappointing vote here.
